1. Purpose

This guide is for the company administrator at your organization. You manage users, seat assignments, product access, and subscription visibility on your Jakten deployment.

Your subscription is managed at jakten.net. Platform mirrors entitlements locally and enforces seat limits on your deployment.

4.1 Activation

After purchase, you receive an activation key (JKTN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) in your onboarding email and on the checkout success page.

Activate in Platform:

  1. Sign in as administrator.
  2. Go to Administration → Licensing.
  3. Enter your activation key in Activate subscription.
  4. Click Activate with key.

Expected result:

Important: Activate once per company deployment — on your single-user PC or on the office server, not on each workstation.

4.2 Validate license

Use Administration → Licensing → Validate to re-check subscription status. Run validate:

4.3 License status

The licensing hub shows:

FieldMeaning
StatusActive, grace, expired, or not yet activated
Operational modeNormal, read-only, or blocked
ExpirationCurrent subscription term end
EntitlementsLicensed products and seat limits
Seat utilizationAssigned vs purchased seats
Legal acceptanceCurrent or pending

5. User management

5.1 Create users

  1. Go to Administration → Users.
  2. Click Invite user.
  3. Enter email and display name.
  4. Save.

Release 1: Platform does not send invitation emails automatically. Provide sign-in credentials to each user directly.

If all Platform seats are assigned, create users only after freeing or purchasing additional seats.

5.2 Update and deactivate users

Select a user to edit display name, email, or active status. Deactivated users cannot sign in.

5.3 Roles

Release 1 includes standard company roles (Administrator, Editor, and others). Assign roles from the user detail panel.

6. Seat management

6.1 View utilization

Go to Administration → Licensing → Seats to see purchased, assigned, and available seats for Platform and Risk.

Platform seat limit matches your highest active paid module seat count.

6.2 Assign seats

  1. Select a user.
  2. Assign Jakten Platform and Jakten Risk seats as needed.
  3. Save.

Rules:

6.3 Revoke seats

Revoke a seat when a user no longer needs access. The user loses product access on next sign-in or workspace open.

6.4 Adding or reducing seats

Additional seats purchased through checkout or the Stripe Customer Portal appear after subscription sync. Assign new seats under Licensing → Seats.

To reduce seat count, revoke assignments first, then adjust quantity in the Stripe Customer Portal.

7. Products and projects

7.1 Enable Jakten Risk

Go to Administration → Products and enable Jakten Risk for your company. Enabling the product does not assign seats — do that separately under Licensing → Seats.

7.2 Assign Risk to a project

Each project must have Jakten Risk assigned before users can open the Risk tab:

  1. Open the project workspace.
  2. Assign Jakten Risk to the project when prompted, or through project administration.

See the Jakten Risk Launch Guide for opening Risk after assignment.

8. Billing and renewal

8.1 What you see in Platform

Platform shows subscription term, entitlements, and enforcement state. It does not show Stripe invoice history or stored payment methods.

8.2 Billing self-service

For invoices, payment method updates, seat changes, and cancellation:

8.3 Renewal

Annual subscriptions renew automatically when your payment method succeeds. Ensure your card is current in the Stripe Customer Portal before your renewal date.

9. Payment problems and access restrictions

If payment fails or a subscription expires, access may change over time:

StageTypical experience
Early graceFull access; warning may appear — update payment method
Read-only periodView data; new edits blocked
BlockedNormal users blocked; administrator may still access licensing to recover

Recovery steps:

  1. Review status under Administration → Licensing.
  2. Update payment method in the Stripe Customer Portal.
  3. Click Validate after payment succeeds.
  4. Confirm operational mode returns to Normal.
  5. Contact [email protected] if access does not restore within 24 hours after payment.
