1. Start here

Jakten Platform is the home for your company, projects, and licensed product workspaces. Use Platform to open projects, choose the working Estimate Version, launch Risk or Estimate, find reports, and check your connection or installed version.

Your company administrator manages activation, users, seats, product availability, and company standards. If a page or product is missing, start with your administrator rather than creating a separate local deployment.

2. Sign in and find your way around

  1. Open Jakten Platform from Windows.
  2. If prompted, select your company deployment or enter the office server connection supplied by your administrator.
  3. Sign in with your email and password.

The left navigation contains:

DestinationWhat you use it for
HomeRecent projects, available products, quick actions, and standards status
ProjectsCreate or open a project
ReportsCompany report library, when enabled for your role
AdministrationUsers, project access, products, licensing, and standards; administrator access required
ConnectionChange or test the Platform Server connection
About & DeploymentVersion, deployment health, compatibility, and suite updates
HelpIn-product starting points and support information

Press the command shortcut shown in Platform to search available destinations without leaving the current page.

3. Open or create a project

Select Projects to open the project library.

To create a project:

  1. Select Create Project.
  2. Enter the project details requested on screen.
  3. Select a published WBS library and version.
  4. Save the project.

Only administrators and users with the required project permission can create projects. A WBS library must be published before it can be selected.

To open existing work, select a project from Recent projects on Home or from the project library.

4. Use the project workspace

Every project opens on Overview. The workspace may also show:

AreaPurpose
OverviewProject summary, product launch cards, and Estimate Version selection
RiskThe integrated Jakten Risk workbench
AssuranceThe integrated Jakten Assurance workspace
ReportsReports published to the Platform project library
MembersPeople with project access
DriversProject quantities used by Estimate for normalized metrics
Commercial LibrariesProject-specific classifications used by commercial workflows
SettingsProject settings available to your role

Product cards and tabs appear only when the product is enabled for the company and assigned to the project. Your own named-user seat and project access are checked when you open the workspace.

5. Work with Estimate Versions

Risk and Estimate both use the Estimate Version selected in the Platform project overview.

  1. Open the project Overview.
  2. Create a working Estimate Version, or select an existing one.
  3. Confirm the selected version before opening Risk or Estimate.

Changing the selected version changes the analytical context you open. It does not overwrite another version. Issued or frozen evidence remains historical; create or select an editable working version for new changes.

6. Open Risk or Estimate

From the project Overview, select Open on the product card or choose the product tab.

If you seeWhat to do
Product is not assignedAsk an administrator to enable the product and assign it to the project
No Estimate Version selectedReturn to Overview and create or select one
License not validatedAsk an administrator to open Administration → Licensing
Product is suspended or inactiveAsk an administrator to review Products, Licensing, and project assignment

Product workspaces open in the same Platform deployment. Use Back to Platform to return without starting a second application.

See the Jakten Risk User Guide or Jakten Assurance User Guide for the product workflow.

7. Save, leave, and sign out safely

8. Connection and update checks

For an office deployment, your work is stored on the Platform Server. If Platform cannot connect:

  1. Confirm you are on the office network or approved VPN.
  2. Open Connection and run the connection test.
  3. Confirm the server address with your administrator.

Open About & Deployment to view the installed suite version and Deployment Health. Updates are never installed automatically; follow the Suite Updates Guide.

9. Get help

Contact your company administrator first for passwords, seats, project access, missing products, or server connectivity. For product or installation support, email [email protected] with your company name, Platform version, exact error text, and the action you were attempting.

Never email a full activation key or password.
